Referral Process

Your doctor will initiate the referral process for a specialist and/or procedure. After diagnosing a problem that requires a specialist's intervention, your physician may give you the name and number of a physician in that field. You will need to call the specialist's office to inquire about insurance acceptance and to make an appointment.

If you have private insurance (HMO, PPO, POS, etc.), it is your responsibility to contact your healthcare plan to determine your benefits and eligibility for the specialist visit and/or procedure. If your plan requires that our office complete a referral form or make a referral call, please contact our office. Referrals will be completed in 3 business days. We are not responsible for contacting insurance companies to determine if a specialist or procedure is covered by your plan.

If you have Medicaid or Peachcare for Kids, please ask the specialist's office if they accept those programs. If you require our office to complete a referral form or make a referral call, please contact our office. Referrals will be completed in 3 business days.
